In April 2025, Frolgate Technology, in collaboration with Maxtec, successfully hosted an insightful Fortinet event at the Monomotapa Hotel. The workshop focused on Fortinet’s advanced security solutions, drawing attendees keen to understand the latest in cybersecurity.

The event delved into critical aspects of modern security operations and network infrastructure, with key discussions centering on:

  • Secure SD-WAN & Unified SASE (Secure Access Service Edge): Participants learned about Fortinet’s approach to securing every edge, including Zero Trust Principles and SD-WAN access services. The sessions highlighted the benefits of a unified SASE framework, incorporating Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) to provide secure internet, SaaS, and private application access for remote users and locations. The discussions also covered the integration with the Fortinet Security Fabric, emphasizing a single pane of glass for management, next-generation firewalls, and global coverage with over 140 cloud locations.
  • SecOps & XDR (Extended Detection and Response): The presentations explored how to achieve smarter security operations and advanced threat detection. Key topics included addressing the challenges faced by Security Operations (SecOps) teams, such as evolving threats like industrial ransomware, APT threat actors, and supply chain attacks, as well as managing expanding attack surfaces and complex alert volumes. Fortinet’s AI-driven SecOps platform was showcased, highlighting features like a unified SOC platform, GenAI assistance, defense-in-depth detection, and core security protections to reduce attacker dwell times and strengthen overall security posture.

The event provided a comprehensive overview of Fortinet’s solutions designed to protect against advanced cyber threats and optimize network performance.
